Ocean Finance is a leading financial technology business offering a wide range of personal finance options to consumers such as our credit builder credit card, personal loans, a range of mortgages and second charge products for homeowners. This is a new position for an individual who is passionate about all aspects of Paid Search and in its use to drive the business forward. The Paid Search Specialist will be experienced, analytical, knowledgeable and highly driven professional that will drive incremental revenue and profit into the Paid Search account to achieve business growth.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working in-house, at an agency or as a freelancer, on a variety of PPC campaigns. As a Paid Search Specialist, you will ultimately be responsible for the daily execution of the Paid Search strategy - including large scale campaign creation, bid strategy optimisations, testing and strategy planning. You will build highly impactful acquisition campaigns to drive scalable growth for the business. You will be passionate about measuring ROI, as well as a thinking big to develop capabilities to optimise SEM. You will not only have a solid understanding of best practice, but also have a vocal/visible opinion on how to adapt it with the countless updates in the digital space. An entrepreneurial spirit with a creative mindset for pushing boundaries and thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires strong technical, business and communication skills.

This role is fully remote and can be based either in the UK, Italy, Greece or Cyprus.

Job requirements

Role and Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of our current Paid Search campaigns for credit cards in terms of day-to-day management of the accounts
  • Plan, execute and monitor campaigns according to the business strategy to achieve targets and ongoing growth
  • Execute campaign optimisation tactics (bidding, ad copy and landing page testing) to achieve spend efficiency and volume targets. Work collaboratively across teams to define the test roadmap.
  • Manage large budgets across ensuring positive ROI and long-term profitability goals
  • Maintain sufficient reports to communicate Paid Search performance with the Head of Paid Media and key business stakeholders
  • Continuous improvement of our performance, processes and workflows by challenging the status quo, both in terms of quality and efficiency (e.g. campaign set-up, bidding, A/B testing, incrementality, reporting)
  • Analyse data to monitor performance, traffic quality and identify marketing trends & growth opportunities
  • Hold frequent communications with existing account managers/directors from Google & Microsoft to access key insights and Betas which will help the business to stay ahead of the competition

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • 3+ years’ hands-on experience managing profitable Paid Search campaigns end-to-end
  • In-depth background and knowledge of Google & Bing Ads and Google Analytics
  • Time-management skills: ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills; with a natural curiosity to measure, test, learn and iterate. Ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, drive rationale, discover root causes and identify opportunities
  • A co-operative and supportive personality; a true team player
  • A keen eye for detail and highly articulate in verbal and written communications
  • A strong sense of professionalism, commercialism and a deep respect for others
  • Can work under pressure, with the ability to be reactive and flexible

  • Experience on automated bidding platforms (Search Ads 360)
  • Google Ads certification
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Experience with Power BI & Tag Manager
  • Previously worked on a consumer finance business
  • Know the basics of Paid Social and Paid Display and how these can assist Paid Search
  • Understanding cross-channel attribution models
